I've been meaning to blog about this for awhile now, but keep forgetting about it. Anyway, it took place the weekend of July 11-13th and this was our first year to go. I wanted to go the past couple years, but last year it was cancelled and the year before we were out of town. So this year we finally got to see what all the fuss was about. :-)

It was pretty cool seeing all those balloons. I told Ashley if he was ever stuck for a gift, I'd love to go up in a hot air balloon. ;-) One of the down sides was the hot sticky humid air. UGH. Even when the sun went down we were still sweating. Aiden especially. You can just see how hot and tired he was...especially after he let go of his own balloon and cried about it until he got a new one, but then cried some more because it was his balloon - it ended up being a different color.

He was able to forget about the balloon, by finding a cute girl to flirt with.

i don't know what he's showing her and i don't want to know
They had all sorts of fun stuff there, vendors, booths, a kids' play area, but we bypassed all that. When it got dark enough they started airing up the balloons and "glowing". It's a neat thing if you've never seen it before. Check out some of the pictures. I tried to get some good shots, but I'm still trying to figure out this camera.

All in all it was a fun experience, but I'm not sure how I feel about going next year.

I love the pics of Aiden and his girlfriend... very cute. :) I laugh every time I look at the one where he's pulling his shirt up.
You'll have to tell me what kind of camera you got, the pictures look great. We're looking for a new one, ours has gotten dropped one too many times and doesn't always want to come on now...
