Water, Water!

We spent Saturday afternoon with our friends at the lake and Aiden had a blast. He only had about a 45 minute nap before we ended up taking off, but he was pretty good the whole afternoon. There was one point, toward the end of the afternoon, where he was "driving" and the lull of the boat must have been relaxing, because we looked at him and his eyes were closed. I think if we'd kept going he would have nodded off right there.

And swim in the lake

But when it came to the beach, he wasn't having any of it. He didn't like the way the sand felt on his feet and kept calling it dirt. Haha. I think we all know who he takes after on that...

So we ended up taking turns holding him up in the middle of the lake, even though he had a lifejacket on. The lifejacket kept trying to put him on his back and he didn't like that. I think Ashley and I got a work out trying to keep ourselves and him afloat. Even with a lifejacket on, it wasn't easy. But Aiden loved it and that made it worth it.

He didn't like having the lifejacket on, but once he figured out we weren't going to take it off, he adjusted. Plus, he kept saying Water! Water! and we told him if he wanted to go in the water he had to have the lifejacket on. No problems after that. ;-)
