Woulda Coulda Shoulda

I've been meaning to write a post for the past week. Really, I have. :-P

Aiden spent this past weekend with his grandparents. Yeah for him and us...until he comes back home. His attitude lately has been, well, terrible...as in terrible twos. Just pushing the limits, not listening, you know, normal two/three year old behavior.

like my skateboards?

He sure is a smart little one though. Ashley and I downloaded some toddler games on our phones to keep him occupied when we go out. He wants to play them at home too, which is fine. I just don't want him to get burned out on them too fast. He already knows how to turn our phones on and pick the game he wants to play. Crazy.

stick 'em up!

He also wants to play some games on the computer, but hasn't quite grasped the mouse concept yet. I'm trying to teach him, but I think he inherited my patience.

Sophie's doing pretty good lately. Eating well, sleeping decently. I think last night was her longest stretch ever - 9pm-7am! Is that normal for a 3 month old??? And the night before, she woke up once to nurse and fell right back asleep! I am so praying that this continues. But you know what happened last night/this morning? I woke up around 3am and tossed for awhile thinking she was going to wake up. Just can't win. ;-)

I've been trying to come up with some more things for Aiden and I to do when he's at home during the week. Today was fingerpainting.

I would take him outside to play, but it's so hot, plus there's not a ton for us to do out there. He doesn't seem interested in playing on his swingset anymore. He's usually more interested in the dirt.

i swear she was born with that look on her face

We've stopped going to the library because the movie time interferes with nap time and the boy has too much energy to be cooped up with all the books. I think I'll wait a little while longer until I take him back. He also seems to associate books with bed time since that's when we usually read them. We need to change that mentality. I remember loving to read when I was younger...just not what I was supposed to be reading in school. :-)

Aiden's birthday's coming up. We haven't decided what to do yet. I'm tired of PIU and it's too hot to go to the park. And, who wants a bunch of screaming 3 year olds in the house? Not me!

And I'll leave you with these gems...dedicated to my friend Martha. Hope these don't make you too hungry!
