Ok, so the last time we talked, it was Sophie's birthday. Well, she had her party Saturday, May 1st at Kids View. We were worried that it was going to storm. The forecast had shown about and 80% chance all week, so I had prepared to have the party at our house. Aaand, of course after all that prep, there wasn't a drop of rain to be had, pretty much the entire weekend! So yeah for that. Haha. But it was sooo muggy and steamy. Yick.

The party was great, even though Sophie had no idea that it was all for her. But I think she enjoyed the cake...or at least the frosting.

On Sunday we celebrated her 1st birthday in a traditional semi-korean way. Haha. Hambok & all - she chose the noodle, of course. Which can be interpreted as long life, or never hungry. I'll stick with the never hungry in her case.

Let's see...then there was Mother's Day. I had a wonderful day with my little ones and received some really cool gifts.

Then there was Teacher Appreciation Week. So they all received "stars" from Sophie & Aiden. I tried to go for a little tye-dye affect.

And the final cookies for my friend's daughter's birthday.

Then there was Brady's birthday. I forgot to take pics of the birthday boy, but got a couple snaps of Aiden playing the guitar!

We finally put Sophie in the big girl carseat!

Putting up the pool - that we later decided we didn't like and got a different one instead.

Oh and I won a s'mores kit online - came with homemade marshmallows, artisan chocolate and maple graham crackers. Yum! Aiden seemed to enjoy it anyway.

AND, I entered a drawing for free housecleaning and ended up winning that! $350 gift car to Merry Maids. Which, I think I'm going to hold onto for now. Heehee
I've been putting one of my Christmas presents to good use and made some chocolate chip ice cream. HELLO! Waaay better than the stuff you get at the grocery store! :-P

One of Sophie's teacher's son graduated from HS this year, so she asked if I'd make some cookies for their party. You should've seen how many times I practiced the "2010" before I actually started piping it onto the cookies.

Oh and there was Ashley's birthday too! Now we're both the same age. For a few months anyway. Ashley decided on Country Tavern for his birthday dinner. Deeelicious ribs. Mom/Dad/Jennifer. Next time you guys are in town, we're taking you there for some TEXAS RIBS & BRISKET! You'll never go back. Hehehe
Aiden is just absorbing sooooo much at school. Right now they're learning about tadpoles/frogs and he was excited to show me the tadpoles they have in their classroom. He's writing his name EVERYWHERE and numbers. He recognizes just about all the letters and every number. We're working on some reading stuff, but he goes by memory alot...which is good too.

Sophie is finally getting those top teeth in. Sharp as can be. She's very verbal and lets you know when she's not getting her way. Poor thing picked something up and ran a pretty high fever for a couple days, then it just went away. But it brought a rash with it, so we found out it was something called Roseola.

The new thing we're doing with Aiden is quarters. He gets a quarter in the morning and a quarter in the evening. For brushing his teeth, getting dressed, not acting out. We've let him get a new toy with the money he saves, but now we've told him that on Sundays, he'll take 4 of those quarters and he can either exchange it for a dollar or just take those 4 quarters and that's his offering at church. I figure after we get that going, we'll start teaching him about saving those quarters.
Ok, I think I'm spent. Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything important. :-P If I do, I'll be sure to come back and let you know. Maybe more/shorter posts would be better than fewer/longer posts? LOL
Oh, I almost forgot. Here are some comparison pics. Enjoy!
