her bday present from us
We actually went to see the doctor today for her 12 month checkup. She did fantastic...until it came time for those shots. Aiden always fussed or cried when the doc poked and prodded. Sophie just took it all in stride.
When she got the first two shots in the left leg, she cried, but it wasn't too bad. Then, she got two shots in the right leg - apparently these burn a little bit - she turned red and bawled. Poor girl.
All in all, doc says she looks great.

Guess that's a good combo :-)
She's almost walking. I say almost because she takes about an average of 5 steps then falls forward or on her booty. I can't believe how fast this time is going by! But on the other hand, like Ashley says, it seems like she's been here for a long time. :-D You almost can't remember what it was like without her.
She's not saying a bunch of words of course, but she's definitely verbal. She loves to be outside (total opposite of her brother these days) and is into EVERYTHING. Check out these pics:

She's is totally smart too. ;-) Of course. She's good at taking things out of their boxes and putting them back in...not so much putting things back on shelves, but one thing at a time. She's started dancing to music, well, maybe more like bobbing her entire body up and down. It's really cute.

The girl has a room full of toys for her to play with, but doesn't care much about them. She wants to play with Aiden's toys and with Aiden. Aiden is usually really good about letting her play with them/him, except for a few of his favorites of course. I think that as they grow up, she'll be the one annoying him instead of vice versa. heehee
Aiden is turning into a little gamer. He loves to get on nickjr.com and play games and wants to play with our phones all the time (we downloaded some toddler games for him). I also picked up Toy Story Yahtzee when I was shopping one day (it was $5 and looked neat) and I think we've played that at least once a day since I brought it home. Then there's Candy Land and Memory. Every night. He loves it. And he's got a great memory too.
I try to take a walk around the neighborhood with the kids in the afternoon. Sometimes Aiden rides his 4-wheeler, sometimes his bicycle. He's mostly good about stopping at the stop sign and making sure he can see me, but other times he scares me because he gets going so fast. I could run after him, but that's not easy to do while trying to push a stroller or buggy or wagon or whatever I have Sophie in.
The other day we were playing in the driveway with some chalk and Aiden brought his new Battle Force 5 (his current favorite) car to play with. I swear that girl can find the tiniest thing and pick it up with her two tiny fingers. Most of the time it's headed for her mouth, but other times she just wants to see what it is. And then, there's the chalk...I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves.
We're having her birthday party this weekend at the park. Hopefully the weather holds up for us. My parents and sister are flying in too. It's gonna be CUH-RAZEE! I'm working on the 1st bday cake and cake for the guests. I'm sure there will be pics I can post later.
