Halloween 2009

DSC_0435

This year we decided to let Aiden go trick or treating. He of course doesn't get the whole concept, but knows that if you put your bag out and whisper trick or treat, you'll get some candy. I say whisper because I saw his lips moving, but didn't hear the actual words come out of his mouth. :-P

Our neighborhood doesn't "do" halloween apparently. The first year we lived in this house we decorated the outside and bought a bucketful of candy. We ended up eating half the candy and throwing half of it out. We had maybe 5 trick or treaters. It's only gone downhill from there. NONE last year. So, we decided to take Aiden to the mall since most of the stores hand out candy to the kiddos.

I think Aiden may have been the only child dressed up as a cowboy and almost everyone who saw him said something about it...howdy partner, hey there cowboy, etc...

Toward the end Aiden started trying to sit down on the floor. He was soooo tired. He'd gotten up around 7 this morning and he, Ashley and Sophie left for Ethan's birthday party (he's turning 5!) around 9:30, while I went to work around 8. They all got home around 2:30 or so and he only took a quick nap in the car. He had so much sugar today that I'm sure he was coming down off his sugar high. We had some pizza after the mall and he must have been starving because he inhaled the entire personal pan pizza (minus the crusts).

And I know, I'm bad. I was going to draw on some whiskers to go with Sophie's cat ears, but I never got around to getting any face paint. Plus, her skin's so sensitive that I didn't want her to break out or something. Ashley said she still got some comments at the mall, about being a cute kitty. :-P
